It’s now a year and a few months since City Television Uganda was started by a group of Journalism and Communication students at Makerere University. The channel is gaining momentum and justification due to the inescapable digital era. In the audio embed Ritah Kemigisa a News Reporter with K FM, one of Uganda’s most listened urban radio and sister station to Daily Monitor, caught up with select members currently working round the clock to generate content, that shall feature on City TV Uganda’s various internet based platforms. The team seeks to meet online, the informational and edutainment demands of the tech savvy millennials. The idea is a form of self-employment for Santos Kalema, the CEO and Founder, while his colleague Mouris Opolot, the Strategist and Writer argues that the idea of an internet based TV channel is right on time given the shift from “living room” mode of consuming information to the “on the go” fashion which is possible through use of smart phones and tablets.
